New for 2020, our ‘dog-friendly double’ is set on its own dedicated plot in the peaceful Rum Bridge angling & glamping site. Conveniently located close to the showers/WCs and shop - with space for additional tents/guests - it benefits from a Kingsize bed, metered electrical supply, panel heater and outdoor seating and overlooks the Rum Bridge marsh (a Suffolk County Wildlife Area). Optional ‘extras’ include BBQ and food packages, tent hire, linens, towels and more, enabling you to tailor your break to your interests, preferences and budget.

Nestling in the tranquil Suffolk countryside, just a short hop from historic Bury St Edmunds and the world renowned university city of Cambridge, the medieval wool town of Clare boasts a rich and diverse history; and a host of attractions and distractions which belie its diminutive size - including a monthly artisan market, galleries, antique shops, a golf course, bistros, restaurants, takeaways, traditional and gastro pubs. At its heart: Clare Castle Country Park; home to the remains of a 13th Century stone castle keep set on a 70ft-high motte commanding panoramic views of the town. Circumscribed by the meandering, reed fringed River Stour, and providing a glorious setting for a picnic or a preprandial stroll, the park is also the site of the original Clare Railway Station, in whose 1865 bookings hall you’ll find the unique Platform One cafe. Of similar historic significance, the nearby Clare Priory dates back to 1248, making it one of the oldest religious houses in England; and the Ancient House Museum, located off the bustling market square, offers fascinating insights into the 2,000-year history of Suffolk's smallest town.
