The location benefits from sensational views across the lochs, mountains and glen. The Portnellan Estate boasts a selection of traditionally built stone cottages and timber framed lodges overlooking Loch Iubhair (pronounced Ewar), Loch Dochart, Glen Dochart and the surrounding mountains. The properties vary in size from 1 to 8 bedrooms and can sleep from 1 to 16 people with fully fitted kitchens, sumptuous hotel grade bed mattresses, Egyptian cotton bed linen, towels and soaps. Open plan living areas lead to large deckings which feature garden furniture to enjoy the stunning true, rugged, Highland landscape all around you. On-site activities and facilities include rowing boats, wild salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, kayaks, paddle boards and much much more. Buzzard is our beautiful 2 bedroom holiday chalet that sleeps up to 4. Buzzard is a larger property than other 2 bedroom chalets on the Portnellan Estate with an extra ensuite shower room, a larger dining area and a living area encased in glass and a decking area to the front of the chalet.

Portnellan Estate is the perfect base for exploring Central/West Scotland with known landmarks only a short distance away. Oban 45 minutes, Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow just over 1 hour and Edinburgh a 90 min drive. Glen Coe and all it beholds is less than 40 mins drive and the bonnie shores of Loch Lomond are 20 mins by car. Other areas include the truly beautiful Glen Lyon and Loch Tay, Glen Etive, Glen Lochay and Glen Orchy all within the local area. Stay on the M9 until you see Stirling Castle on your right hand side and the signs for A84, Crianlarich at junction 10. Continue on the A84 through Doune, Callander, Strathyre until it joins the A85 at Lochearnhead staying on the A85, following the signs for Crianlarich. The A85 takes you to Portnellan about two miles before the village of Crianlarich. The estate will be on your left, and is signposted well. Continue up the driveway following the signs to your lodge. Names plates are on each property and parking is alongside. Should you be staying in Stob Binnein Cottage, Capercaillie Cottage or Lapwing Lodge these properties are located on the opposite side of the main road from the Portnellan Estate main entrance. From the South via Glasgow Follow the M74 to Glasgow, then the M9. Proceed as from Edinburgh above. Alternatively continue on the M74 to Glasgow picking up the signs to the Erskine Bridge. Follow the signage from the Erskine Bridge to Crianlarich. Continue along the A82 and turn right at Tarbet. Drive on through Ardlui, Inverarnanuntil you reach Crianlarich.
