Poplars Farm Touring site has five hard standing pitches for your caravan, camper van or motorhome and three grass pitches for your tent, large or small. Each pitch has beautiful views over the Derbyshire Dales. There is an amenities block with two toilets and a shower and a washing up sink with plentiful hot water. The site is adults only. Dogs are welcome and there is a good dog walk in the ten acre site. In May and June, the fields are beautiful, natural, wild flower meadows ~ they have never been treated with any artificial fertiliser. Poplars Farm is in an ideal position to enjoy all Derbyshire has to offer.

We have a camper van and enjoy the lifestyle ourselves, so we appreciate what makes an enjoyable stay on a campsite. Ours is friendly and spacious and we offer help where it is needed or solitude if that is preferred. There's nothing quite like arriving on site, getting set up and then planning some adventures, or just space to rest and chill out. It's good for us to meet new people. The campsite is adults only as Pete has various old tractors, machinery and piles of logs and these are not really suitable playgrounds for little ones. We feel fortunate that we can work from home ~ we have the campsite, three glamping pods and a holiday cottage so this keeps us busy enough.

There is something for everyone in Derbyshire. The scenery is breath taking and walking and cycling are popular pursuits. There are many pubs and cafes to stop and enjoy a drink and a meal and most are dog friendly. Just a couple of miles away is Carsington Water with opportunities for water sports, hiking and cycling. For fans of history, there is Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall and many other historic buildings. The mills at Cromford, just a short ride away, are part of the World Heritage site for their part in the Industrial Revolution. Vehicle enthusiasts can take a trip on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, visit Crich Tramway Museum and The Great British Car Journey at Ambergate. For thrill seekers, Alton Towers is about half an hour away and just four miles away, there's Wild Park for paint balling, quad biking plus the pub in the woods. Ashbourne is five miles away and this is the Gateway to the Peak District, one on England's beautiful national parks. Visit Dovedale and the Stepping Stones, the caves and reservoirs at Castleton and so much more.
