Min y Don is one of the oldest properties in Llandudno (circa 1830), pre-dating most of the Victorian development which took place the 1850's onwards. From humble beginnings housing an underslung water wheel to power a copper ore crushing mill, it has seen continuous development over almost two centuries. By the late 1880's, Min y Don had been developed into a luxurious "gentleman's residence". By the early 1900's, it offered a "high class boarding service" hosting seasonal visitors to the area. Such was its success, the property was altered and extended with two additional floors added during the 1930's together with a rear wing to give us, essentially, what we have today. However, not all is quite as it may seem from the Grade 2 listed and protected Victorian facade. Far from being a pokey Victorian property that's been altered to suit as a hospitality venue, Min y Don offers superbly spacious rooms with luxurious en-suites, setting new bench-marks for 21st Century accommodation. The name Min y Don translates from Welsh to mean 'at the edge of the waves', perfectly describing the guest house’s location on Llandudno's famous North Shore. Situated a mere pebble's throw from the crescent bay, directly opposite the Victorian Pier entrance and at the foot of the Great Orme with easy access to both the Great Orme Tramway, Happy Valley Gardens and Llandudno Cable Car. A great base from which to enjoy Llandudno's scenery, walks and attractions. Min y Don has operated as a hotel/guest house for many decades. Your hosts Teresa and Rheinallt fell in love with the location and its spectacular views in 2018, sensing a fantastic opportunity to provide excellent quality accommodation with an unrivalled outlook over Llandudno Promenade for the discerning traveller at a reasonable price. Each room has private en-suites with good quality toiletries. Guest rooms are located over three floors and are accessed through our central stairway. Please note - Min y Don has no lift access to upper floors. We regretfully cannot accept guest pets and we are an "adult only" venue (over 18 yrs of age).
