Impstone House B & B is situated in a very rural area of South Wiltshire, in the beautiful Chalke Valley. We are about 10 miles south west of Salisbury. Our B & B offers 2 separate units, a beautiful oak-framed "Annexe" and a fully restored Shepherds' Hut. The Annexe is ideal for self-caterers on a short break, as there is an open-plan kitchen, dining, living and sleeping areas. In the kitchen area, there is an under-worktop fridge freezer, dishwasher, combi-microwave and twin induction hob. The living area has satellite and internet TV, and there is an ensuite bathroom and WC. Outside, there is a small private "back-yard lawn area with a picnic table. We can add cot and camp bed for children two young children. The Shepherds Hut (Circa 1880) is a much smaller, quirky place with lovely original victorian oak panelling. There is a raised double bed, with storage under, a table and two chairs, and a couple of cupboards. In the hut is a small fridge, kettle and microwave, and outside there is a separate covered "camp kitchen" with a double gas stove. Also outside the Shepherds Hut is a fully heated private shower and WC, accessed along a short path. The Shepherds Hut has a small paved terrace with a small table and chairs, and grassed area, which feel surprisingly private. There is good (generally!) local broadband (40 - 70 mps) in both the Shepherds Hut area and the Annexe. The Annexe is accessed by an external stair, and is above an oak-framed barn. The Shepherds hut also has some steps up into the dorway, so neither is easy for those with significant disabilities. The two units can be booked separately or together, and is ideal accommodation for those attending functions at the "wedding destination" round the corner at Kowle Barn, or at the June History Festival in Broad Chalke about 1.5 miles away. Or come for some peace and quiet and enjoy our lovely countryside and nearby towns and villages. Well behaved dogs are welcome.

We are both retired doctors, and have lived in the area for 26 years. We started our B & B three years ago, and enjoy meeting guests during the summer months. We hope you will feel welcomed to a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Impstone House. We try to meet every guest and to help in any way we can with "local" knowledge.

The local area is very rural, and ideal for those enjoying walking or cycling. It is equally good for just getting away for a few days. There are excellent local pubs, two within walking distance, and several good restaurants within easy driving distance. There are several National Trust properties and English Heritage sites well worth a visiting, including Stonehenge, Stourhead, Kingston Lacey and Mottisfont, and Impstone House B & B is well located for visits to the nearby towns of Salisbury, Tisbury and Shaftesbury, Winchester as well as the Dorset south coast.
