Welcome to Headington Haven! We’re delighted to open our classic English home in the historic Headington Quarry area of Oxford. Our cosy Victorian house offers a truly personal homestay experience, perfect for anyone looking for a warm home away from home. You’ll stay in one of our three double bedrooms, with access to a shared bathroom featuring a bath, separate shower, and toilet. Make yourself comfortable in our well-equipped kitchen and relaxed living room. (just remember to tidy up after yourself for the next guest.) All rooms are upstairs, accessible via a traditional narrow staircase. Our home is filled with warmth and plenty of personality, not a sleek, modern hotel. Instead, you’ll enjoy the character of a lived-in home, complete with the friendly buzz of a busy household , pets and all, to welcome you back after a day of exploring, studying or working in Oxford. We are a family - mother and teen sons (and sometimes more of our family) with a small dog and a big cheeky cat. As a travel writer, our family has explored our backyard (and further afield ) more than most and we try to be available to answer any questions you may have about things to do and see. Things to note: We are an outdoor shoe-free home (and offer guest slippers to borrow) We do not allow any smoking, vaping, drugs, or guests not booked in our home. The house is conveniently located on a quiet street, yet close to shops and cafes (10-15 min walk) and public transport (6 min walk). You can easily reach the city centre, the university, and other attractions by bus, bike, or car. We offer a base to explore the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside and the Cotswolds nearby, with the wonderful Shotover Country Park just a short walk (or jog) away. We are close to Brookes University, the Churchill and Nuffield Hospitals with a direct bus connection just around the corner to the John Radcliffe Hospital for those visiting. The Headington Quarry Area is notable for its connection with C.S.Lewis, the famous author of the Narnia tales and many other literary works. Lewis lived in Headington for most of his life, from 1921 to 1963, and moved to three different houses in the area. He also worshipped at Holy Trinity Church, where he is buried in the churchyard. From Headington Haven you can easily visit these places and follow his footsteps.
