Offering a garden and mountain view, Gellihaf House is situated in Blackwood, 23 km from Cardiff University and 25 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. All units are fitted with a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a kettle, a walk-in shower, bathrobes and a wardrobe. A patio with an outdoor dining area and garden views is offered in each unit. Gellihaf House is a hidden gem in the historic valleys of South Wales. It was built in 1931 in the style of the 'Arts and Crafts' movement. Catherine & Howard fell in love with it the moment they saw the house. Over a period of 12 months they lovingly renovated Gellihaf House to what you see now. A beautiful country abode. It's original features are intact, but modern amenities are in place to offer the guest all the comforts they need. The gardens are beautifully kept, and are a joyful place to relax.
Catherine and Howard fell in love with Gellihaf House the moment they saw it. Howard hails from Bargoed, and after spending most of his life travelling all over the world he has settled back in his 'valley'. Catherine, has lived in Cardiff most of her life, but has a connection with the house that was discovered 6 months after they moved in. It was discovered that her great great uncle, William Ebsworth lived at Gellihaf House in the 1920's!!!
The Rhymney Valley has undergone a transformation from a hugely industrial area to a beautiful place to discover. Take a walk in Parc Penallta for some spectacular views of the surrounding area. You'll be surprised what you find. The Winding House is a nod to the valleys' mining history. Llancaiach Fawr is not to be missed. An historic Tudor manor house, which holds spooky Ghost Tours each year. Caerphilly Castle is the 2nd largest castle in the UK. Time your visit to coincide with one of their medieval weekends. You wont regret it! And of course there is Cardiff, the capital of Wales. Its a short train ride from us, and has a huge amount to offer for everyone.
