Garden Cottage enjoys a fabulous rural location in the heart of the Garden of England, making it perfect for those who are seeking to enjoy everything that the Kent countryside has to offer. Hawkenbury is nestled between the villages of Headcorn and Staplehurst, the cottage is surrounded by fantastic country walks, welcoming country pubs and priceless peace and quiet.

Rurally positioned in the lovely landscaped garden of the Clock House, you will be more than welcome to wander the garden and enjoy the birdsong. This is a property within our garden, so please expect normal daily activities and friendly dogs. Close by, you will find the famous Leeds Castle (with its wonderful summer outdoor concert), Sissinghurst Castle gardens as well as many other local, historic, national trust sites. On your way to visit these local attractions you will discover a few of the many fantastic local pubs and eateries in the area; ranging from traditional country pubs to modern restaurants. A little closer to home, at the end of our driveway you will find an infinite network of footpaths and bridleways. These footpaths can take you through heart of the countryside to neighbouring villages such as Chart Sutton, East Sutton, Staplehurst, Headcorn and many more further afield. Headcorn aerodrome is close by and is well worth a visit if your interests lie there, sometimes we’re lucky enough to get a fly past from the wonderful spitfires based locally and biplanes doing aerobatics. In the summer they have the spectacular Battle of Britain weekend, and a number of other events such as classic cars meets, etc. Public Transport: Easy reach of mainline station with frequent services to London from either Headcorn or Staplehurst mainline stations. There is plenty to see at Rochester or Canterbury although lovely places such as Rye, Whitstable or Chilham make for great days out.
