As the founder and builder of Upper Hurst Farm I am not shy of saying that I have a purpose and that purpose is to create beauty here - and that has to be - because what has been created has to mirror the indescribably beautiful landscape that we have at Upper Hurst Farm. This has made an environment in which people naturally feel calm and nurtured. Gaia's Hideaway is at Upper Hurst Farm Caravans, Camping and Glamping in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Set in Staffordshire's Manifold Valley yet walking distance to the Derbyshire Dales, Gaia's Hideaway is nestled on the border of these two fabulous counties. Cycle trails, hiking, open water swimming, picturesque villages and stately homes are within reach of the hideaway. Farm shops, ice cream parlours, cafes and cosy pubs galore, Gaia's Hideaway is the perfect place for exploring what the Peak District has to offer. We are very rural so peace and tranquillity is assured, whilst being central to the four major towns: Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Leek. There's lots to do so you won't be bored!

Gaia’s Hideaway is approached from a path at the South-East corner of Upper Hurst Farm Caravan and Camping site leading down to a secluded corner surrounded by trees, natural hedgerows and with open views to the Peak District hills. The private, luxurious 6-person wood-fired hot tub is heated for your arrival and provides a sensual daytime or nighttime bathing experience. The South-East aspect means that you will have shade in some places and sunshine all day long on the decking area so sun-bathing is definitely on the menu. There is a gas BBQ outside, perfect for alfresco dining with a view. The bed is a superking, memory foam bed supplied with feather pillows, a feather duvet and egypitan cotton bed linen. Dressing gowns and egyptian cotton towels are provided. Gaia’s Hideaway sleeps 2 and is dog friendly. 1 net of kiln dried hardwood is included free of charge for the hot tub and 1 pack of 12 compressed heat logs is included for the fireplace. Additional logs are available to purchase if necessary. Toiletries and a fully-equipped kitchen are provided. Tea, coffee, sugar, nespresso pods, salt and pepper are also provided. Just bring yourself and some slippers! The yurt has its own compost toilet for convenience but has access to our very luxurious caravan and camping site facilities. These facilities are underfloor-heated with power showers and they're spotlessly clean. Due to health and safety regulations (HSG282), the hot tub in this property can only be used once before it needs to be emptied, cleaned, re-filled and reheated. Please let us know which day you plan to use the hot tub. The following day we will need to come down and clean it. If you’d like to use the hot tub more than once, we can facilitate this for an extra charge. This includes getting the hot tub up to the perfect temperature again and an additional net of logs. Please let us know and we’ll get the tub going again.

Gaia's Hideaway is very rural and has immediate access to literally hundreds of footpaths. Cycle routes are also prevalent here. The Manifold Cycle way is just 1 mile from here and can be reached directly from site via quiet country lanes. The Tissington trail is just 4 miles away and the Monsal trail 10 miles. The picture postcard village of Hartington is just 2 miles away and the closest pub is just half a mile if you cut across the fields. Gaia's Hideaway is smack-bang in the middle of Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek - so it is absolutely central for the shops and main attractions in the Peak District National Park. Beresford Dale and the Manifold Valley are both within walking distance (1 mile) and the prestigious Chatsworth House Estate is just 30 minutes away.
