This modern stylish lodge is a perfect base in the heart of The Forest of Dean, where you can walk or ride your bike through one of the UK's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The lodge is close to amenities but also tucked away giving you a peaceful retreat in which to relax. If you love outdoor activities, bird watching, cycling, walking or just want a break from the bustle of everyday life then the lodge is perfect for you. Well-behaved dogs welcome (2max) CHARGE APPLIES, please bring your dogs bedding. Evening/weekend dog sitting service is available on request before booking & can't be guaranteed without prior arrangement (additional charge applicable). Dogs MUST NOT be left unattended in the lodge at anytime. No dogs on the furniture or upstairs. The lodge has a contemporary living area and kitchen combined with a bathroom located on the ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need including a fan oven and induction hob, dish washer and a washer drier. The bathroom has a huge walk-in shower which is perfect to freshen up after exploring the forest. There are electric radiators throughout and an electric flame effect fire for the added cosy effect. Upstairs there is a large tranquil bedroom with a double bed, a set of draws and clothes rail to hang your clothes. Outside there is a table and chairs where you can sit and enjoy the view over the forest towards the Welsh mountains. WE HAVE A COVERED SECURE BIKE STORAGE AREA FOR 4 BIKES, plus other outdoor gear (Please bring your own bike chains). The garden has security of cameras which can be in used throughout your stay (available on request). There is also an area for washing off bikes, so mud isn’t a problem. The lodge has Wi-Fi and a smart TV (guests can log-in to their own Netflix/ on-demand accounts), There is a selection of retro board games, playing cards and books about the FOD for you to browse. There is one car parking space only. Otherwise its street parking.

Forest Cedar Lodge is within my garden, and I live in the house with my husband, our three children and our dog. We have lived in the FOD all of our lives, and we love it here. Myself and my husband can offer advice about most activities you wish to know about within the area, and if I don't know, I can soon find out. I enjoy exploring the outdoors and walking the dogs. I also have a passion for reading and travel.

There are many forest walks right on the door step, within fifteen minutes you can be strolling the woods that surround Cinderford. We have a independent cinema, Palace Cinema, with two screens just at the bottom of the road. All seats are just under five pounds and the snacks are also excellent value. There is a sport centre with a swimming pool a large fully equipped gym. The lodge is close to all the amenities of the forest including Go Ape, Puzzlewood, The Sculpture Trail, Beechenhurst, beautiful lakes at Cannop and Mallards pike and the cycle centre also at Cannop. Clearwell caves (which has the most magical Christmas event, a must for children and adults alike, and Symonds Yat rock are also within a short drive. I have made a guide which is in the lodge which contains lots of information about the area which includes places to eat/take aways and local watering holes as well as local tourist attractions. The lodge is located on the bus route to Gloucester should you wish to visit and the bus stop is located a few yards from the lodge. The bus drops off at Gloucester Quays (see the stage coach app for bus time tables).
