Fern Lodge is situated in 110 acres of private woodland and overlooks one of 3 ponds at Pitlandie Wood Lodges. Beautiful Perthshire countryside surrounds Pitlandie. Perth is only 6 miles away and Edinburgh and Glasgow are approximately 1 hr drive away and Stirling just 45 mins away. Tourist attractions in Perthshire include :- The Black Watch Castle and Museum. The Black Watch has played many pivotal roles in Scottish military history and contributed to many key moments in World history. A visit to The Black Watch Museum brings those moments of history to life. Scone Palace is a stunning site in Perthshire, Scotland with over 1000 years of history. The original home of the Stone of Destiny. Blair Atholl Castle and Gardens. Spanning the Medieval, Georgian, Victorian eras through to present day, Blair Castle encapsulates remarkable periods in Scotland’s history. The V&A Dundee - Scotland’s Museum of Design, presenting the brilliance of Scottish Creativity and the Best of International Design. Soldier’s Leap - Magnificent wooded river gorge where one of the goriest battles in Jacobite history took place. Admire the view from the green footbridge, particularly in autumn when the colours are spectacular. Spot lots of wildlife in the area including red squirrels, woodpeckers and pine martens. The Pass is a hot spot for rare mushrooms and toadstools. Queen’s View in Highland Perthshire overlooks Loch Tummel and is said to have been named after Queen Victoria following her visit to the area in 1866. As well as a stunning viewpoint overlooking the loch and beyond to the iconic Schiehallion, the area offers a range of woodland walks suitable for all abilities. Walks are listed from 2.5kms to very strenuous.
