Opened in 2016, Cruachan House is an Arts and Crafts style Scottish country house set within enchanting mature gardens and woodland, that are mostly at the disposal of guests to relax, dine alfresco and sit and take in the extensive views of the Glenkens by day, and the Milky Way at night from an area of famed dark sky. As this is a dark sky area it should be noted that we are in a rural area and although we are not isolated country roads get you here. Cruachan House is a bed &breakfast on the edge of the village of New Galloway which has a community shop..We are lucky to have The Catsrand a theatre,cinema,shop and cafe which hosts fine live music and arts from around the world.TheClachan inn is recommended for evening meals and is in the next village booking essential.You are welcome to bring a picnic for your first nights stay if you don’t want to travel out again. A short drive away is Galloway forest park which has incredible off road cycling,walking and fishing.A ride through here is breathtaking taking in all wildlife and fauna of the area.Loch Ken offers water-sports including sailing,water skiing and fishing *.*Please note we are in a rural setting so restaurants are further a field and require booking ahead.
