The thick stone walls of this old building create a cosy cabin style bothy bringing together a unique rustic & eclectic style with extra touches that make your stay a little more special. There is a open plan living & sleeping space with a super comfy king-size bed & cotton bedlinen, a sofa, Smart TV with access to Netflix (bring your password) Heating, Free Wi-Fi, Wardrobe, Drawers, easy chair, hairdryer, mirror & views into our garden We supply books, maps & information to help you make the most of your stay. A separate kitchen diner is where you can cook your meals & pop open a bottle of wine. Equipped with hob, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, fridge, table & chairs. Tea & coffee etc provided & welcome pack to set you on your way. The shower room has a walk in electric shower, wash basin, WC, heated towel rail, complimentary toiletries & towels. Enjoy time in the beautiful stone walled garden watch summer sunsets & far-reaching panoramic coastal views towards the Butt of Lewis lighthouse & in the courtyard there is seating & picnic table. Take advantage of the guesthouse next door where you may purchase drinks A short walk to our croft offers the chance to meet our sheep with their lambs. There is seating around the croft for you to enjoy a picnic & take in some spectacular views & summer sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean. With so much to do you will want to stay a while, we recommend a stay of 5 nights or more to explore these beautiful islands.

Hi, welcome to the magical Isle of Lewis & our special area of Ness. We live & run a small Guesthouse next door so are there to help with advice & local information. We have a croft with a small breeding flock of blackface sheep, enjoy the outdoor life along with cold water swimming, nature, travel, exploring & meeting people from around the world. South Galson is a small friendly & welcoming coastal crofting community, so there is every chance of seeing a sheep or two. With walks from the doorstep & 5 minutes to Galson beach it is the ideal location for walkers, birdwatchers, adventure lovers, & those that like the great outdoors & get close to nature. There are panoramic coastal & Atlantic sea views towards the Butt of Lewis lighthouse. A small craft gallery next door. Lewis & Harris are one island so Crofters Retreat is a great base to explore both islands, each day taking in a different location & at the end of the day return home to your cosy retreat. A short drive to restaurants, a pub, cafes, convenience stores, museum, petrol station & launderette 10 mins drive to Butt of Lewis lighthouse & Port of Ness 25 minutes to Stornoway 30 mins to Gearrannan blackhouse village & Carloway Broch 50 mins to the Callanish stones 60 mins to Isle of Harris.
