Welcome to Bolton’s Cottage! We developed Bolton’s Cottage in 2018 from an old stables block and barn, previously owned by Lord Lonsdale to house his estate fire engine and tool storage. The name Bolton comes from the butler who used to live in the main house. It is a single story, ironstone character property. The accommodation consists of two bedrooms, the main with a kingsize bed and ensuite, the twin bedroom is next door to the family bathroom. The living area is open plan with a fully fitted kitchen. There is a private patio area and lawn ajoining the property. Parking is off road in a private driveway. Under cover storage for bikes.
Rutland is a beautiful county with plenty for you to do and see. The surrounding market towns and villages have fabulous shops, museums, and fantastic variety of places to eat. There are many stunning walks nearby, including Rutland Water - the biggest man made reservoir in Europe, a mere 2 miles away. The reservoir has a plethora of activities from cycle routes to water sports and can be accessed from various sites surrounding the water’s 25 mile perimeter. The closest town is Oakham, less than a mile away; if you turn right onto the main road at the end of Manor Lane and cross the railway crossing you will be in the town. Oakham is a small market town and has markets on Wednesday and Saturdays. Tesco is located in the main town plus on the outskirts this side of town there is a Lidl, Aldi amd M & S. Our nearby market towns of Uppingham, Melton Mowbray and Stamford are nearby. Oakham train station is a 15 minute walk away with a number of taxi companies available for those guests without a vehicle.
