Ramblers will delight in the myriad of footpaths available literally from the doorstep and the opportunity to walk the fields around the iconic Bliss Mill to the west of the town should really not be missed. Cool off afterwards at the popular Chipping Norton lido open April - September. Keen golfers will be pleased to note the property's proximity to the Cotswold golf club which also has a hotel and spa. Recommended places to eat in Chipping Norton are Wild Thyme Restaurant, Chequers Pub, The Blue Boar and The Fox at the top of the market square. A little further afield you'll find the Kings Head in Bledington, The Chequers Inn in Churchill and The Wild Rabbit Pub and Restaurant in Kingham. Within easy striking distance of Chipping Norton, history lovers will be enchanted by Chastelton House where the National Trust have followed a very deliberate policy of not changing a thing so that the house appears as it did several hundred years ago, quite a unique experience made all the better by tea and cake served in the neighbouring church. After visiting Chastleton head over to Daylesford Organic and stock your holiday larder with the mouth watering treats on offer there In the opposite direction and heading towards Oxford, the very attractive town of Woodstock is home to Blenheim Palace which is stunning in itself but also hosts a variety of fabulous events throughout the year from Shakespeare in the park to battle proms and music concerts to the popular Christmas trail. Be sure to check their calendar in advance of your stay. Not too far away, Chipping Campden is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt of the Cotswold wool market towns: much of the town’s architecture dates back to medieval times (check out the Woolstaplers Hall built in 1340). In more recent times, the arts and crafts movement relocated here from London’s east end at the turn of the 19th century so there’s a rich, cultural heritage to be explored....
