Abbey View is a 2 bedroom self-catering apartment on the Western Cliff, a stone’s throw from the Whalebone Arch and Whitby beach. Being on the 3rd floor (please note, there is no lift), it offers amazing views overlooking Whitby Abbey and the Yorkshire Moors. The apartment has 2 spacious double bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and the other with a super king which can be made into 2 singles if needed/preferred, both with highly impressive views. It is open plan with a kitchenette and dining table. There is no lift so there are 54 steps up to the apartment. Please bear this in mind if there are any issues where mobility is concerned. The climb does mean that you have a wonderful elevated view of the Abbey though. My family and I have been coming to Whitby for many years and really feel at home in the town. We were therefore very excited when we had the opportunity to buy this beautiful apartment with a view that we love. We hope guests get as much joy from the place as we do.

Captain Cook Memorial Museum. Cook learnt his seaman trade in Whitby and when not at sea he lodged and studied in this house which retains the atmosphere and typical room settings of the period. The museum celebrates Cooke’s achievements and the work of those who sailed with him. Whitby Abbey - As well as an amazing cliff top landmark, people have been drawn to these well-known ruins for which this famous and world-wide know Abbey is a site of literary inspiration, religious devotion and pilgrimage. It is also known to be one of the most atmospheric visitor attractions along the Yorkshire coastline and is where Bram Stoker became inspired for his world-famous novel “Dracula”. Whitby Museum – This museum is located in the beautiful Pannett Park surroundings. It is the home to stunning collections of local fossils, natural history, model ships, carved jet, toys, costumes and social history. There is something for everyone. Dracula Experience – Dare to enter and once within this dark place, feel a dreadful fear come upon you in the chilling, still atmosphere. The Dracula experience is a unique tour of the history of Dracula and the connection to Whitby.
