I am an American, originally from Maryland in the USA, currently living part of the year in Florida and South Carolina with my friend, Alan. Gardening is our passion, as you may note while touring the grounds. I also enjoy playing my harp and piano, cooking and baking, and trying to make our guests feel welcome here in beautiful rural France.

Yes, it is an authentic French Chateau! Dating back to the 1300's, the Chateau, with park, gardens and forests, comprises 12 hectares, and includes a private fishing lake with pedal boat, and an ancient arborietum. The chateau is located one mile from the little village of Lagrauliere. Hiking trails adjoin the premises, and offer quiet, rural, picturesque walks or bicycle rides. The chateau has quite a history, and housed Belgian royalty during World War II. Many of our bedrooms are decorated in in the grand old style, and our library holds over 3,000 books. Our music room is complete with a grand piano, and concert grand harp. Food services are available both at the chateau, (breakfast) and in local villages. Our chateau is available for weddings, parties, conventions, and seminars. Rooms in the chateau feature a delicious free breakfast for up to two adults per bedroom. In addition to rooms in the chateau, 3 beautiful stone self-catering guest houses are available by the week. Guests furnish their own towels, linens, and supplies, and must clean before leaving. Towel/linen and/or cleaning service is available, at an extra fee. Come visit us in paradise!

Lagrauliere is a small village about one mile from the chateau, with a local bakery also selling chocolates! Take a morning stroll to the market on Tuesdays along the footpath into town, and experience fresh crepes made to order. You could also purchase live trout, and bring them back for dinner! Our English library is also located right here in the chateau premises!
