A modern sauna building next to the forest. 2 beds and a sofabed. The property is a detached house near our own house. Pets are welcome. You have access to a cozy studio apartment with a toilet, kitchen, and fireplace. Separate door to a wood-fired sauna with a renovated bathroom, washing machine, and dryer. There's a private patio with outdoor furniture. After the snow and frost is gone, we will build a privacy fence to the sauna building and a sun terrace in to the garden. In the same plot, is our own house with fenced garden for our 2 dogs, a vegetabe garden and a chicken coop, with sweet silkie chicken and a rooster. Chicken are very friendly pets and you can ask to hold them with Mari.

We live in the adjacent detached house with our young daughter (and some occational young men, since we have 3 grown sons who live elsewhere). We have two dogs who frolic in their own fenced yard. The chicken coop is next to the sauna building, where I raise adorable silkie chickens. In the summer, I'm an avid gardener and in the greenhouse, I grow tomatoes and cucumbers. We love the nature that starts from our backyard, and we will give you advice on how to take the most out of your stay here in the beautiful lake district of Heinola.

The building is next to the forest, farther from the main road, in a very peaceful residential area. A 10 minute walk to the nearest grocery store and about a 15 minute walk to the center of town through beautiful bridges, where you find the market place and with fresh vegetables in the summer. In town, you will also find the beach of Kylpylänranta, where you can swim in both winter and summer. The nearest summer café is 600 meters away in an island under the bridges, at Siltasaari, where you can also go fishing (fishing rods available but you have to by a permit). The world's second-best frisbee golf course Kippis is nearby. There's also a swimming hall and the Kumpeli spa within a two-kilometer distance. There are fantastic nature trails starting almost from our yard: Juustopolku and Ilvespolku. Koskensaari (an island nearby) nature trail and allocated barbecues are free to use and are right next to our residential area. Berry and mushroom picking opportunities are available right from the edge of the property. In Finland, there is the "every mans right" wich means that you can use the fruits of the wild forests for free. A 15-minute drive to Vierumäki Sports Institute offers Finland's most versatile sports services, including a golf course, spa, ski trails, racket sports hall, and a paintball course. Public transport: a bus stop 200 meters from our house takes you to Vierumäki and Lahti. We are 35 minutes drive in a car to the center of Lahti and 1.5 hours to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
