Part of former village school compound with various accommodation options -1 bedroom apartment with dining area, living room, bathroom & toilet and kitchen, a room with a lake view, a cozy teachers' studio and a Geography class family room -all are very "retro" influenced with collection of different periods in furniture. New changes this summer 2020-Living room furniture just changed, bathroom recently renovated and games for the inside sport area which is perfect for kids and as well for adults- basket ball court, great yoga area and much more. Also a small sauna newly added to the building! As a lake front property we have our own beach access to the lake as well near by a public beach with a sand volleyball court. A hiking trail and in the winter ski trail start from the house. Also in near by town center of Kemijärvi one can rent various sport equipment such as skis, snowshoe, SUPs, boats, canoes but also fishing equipments or even rent a smoke sauna by a lake side! Please note that the picture of Northern Light in our profile was taken in the different area and those wonderful natural phenomenas are always subject to the weather conditions and not happening all nightly.

Kemijärvi is a gorgeous mountainous lake district in the Eastern Lapland with easy direct train connections as well about 80-90 min drive from the International airports of Rovaniemi and Kuusamo. Soppela village is a small community on the lake side, short distance from reindeer farms, direct access to fishing -even ice fishing in the winters (easy permits required), great hiking or berry picking in the gorgeous forrest and many ski stations near by like Suomu ski station is only around 25-30 min drive away -summertime with a unique 10 min ferry ride and during winters an option for an ice road over the lake (other ski stations near are Salla, Pyhä and Luostotunturi). This village is a perfect place for natural social distancing and peaceful mediation or a family retreat-holidays with in- and outside playgrounds.
