Taxi Kuukkeli picks up and takes you both near and far, and drives airport transportation. We offer a wide range of activities, including northern lights hunting, cycling tours, snowshoeing adventures, and an entirely new concept called the Sauna World. This unique experience, inspired by a beloved Finnish tradition, grants you access to a sauna house featuring two large electric saunas, each with separate dressing rooms and wash facilities, a spacious indoor heated swimming pool, and a cozy lounge area with a fireplace. On the back terrace, you’ll find the legendary smoke sauna, a heated hot tub, and a refreshing cold plunge pool.

Kuukkeli Log Houses Aurora Resort is located in Laanila, about 4 km from the center of Saariselkä. Buildings are on a wonderful 1.8-hectare plot in the heart of Lapland's nature. There are two similar large cottages at the site: Kiilo (A House- lower house) and Rautu (B House-upper house), as well as a smaller cottage Kaarna (C House). The place is ideal for seeing the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) when it's cold and the frosty sky is clear. Outdoor hiking trails and cycling routes, e.g. UK National Park are starting about 100 meters away. Breakfast is served in Bistro & Café Kuukkeli at Shopping center Kuukkeli and transportation there and back is included and leaves every day. The Sauna World is included in the price and available for guests everyday from 7.00 PM to 8.30 PM. Sauna World has two saunas: traditional Smoke sauna and electric sauna with a swimming pool and hot and cold outdoor tubs! Separate changing rooms for women and men. Saariselkä is located 250 km north of the Arctic Circle and it is one of oldest tourist centers in Finland. In Saariselkä there is plenty to do, see and experience at all seasons, all year round. The snowy winter season is from November to early May. The sun sets in the darkness of November's Polar Night, but when the sun rises in spring, you can enjoy Nightless Night most of the summer. Saariselkä Ski & Sport Resort's 20 slalom ski slopes and 6 lifts offer variety for moving around on skis, and it's always worth trying Finland's longest sledding hill which is approx. 2000 meters long. The fell scenery is breathtakingly charming in all seasons, and while moving in the ground, you can also listen to the silence of true Lapland's nature. It is very easy reach Saariselkä - the nearest, Ivalo Airport is only 20 minutes by car there is good flight connections via Helsinki to everywhere.
