The Old School, ''la Vieja escuela'', is a spanish style bed and breakfast with restaurant, bar and lounge area. Perfectly situated in "La Villa de San Roque de Rio Miera", one of the most picturesque and scenic areas of the 3 Villas Pasiegas. The Old school is ideal if you like outdoor activities, stunning landscapes and offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere for families, groups and individual travellers. Come and enjoy walking the mountainous region of Cantabria or alternatively spend your time under a century old oak tree reading a good book. Each newly decorated room at the Old school enjoys a picture window which frames the scenic landscape outside perfectly, all rooms feature en suite shower facilities, king sized bed, comfortable seating area and modern flat screen television. You are invited to enjoy the scenery and go for a wander, for the less adventurous you are welcome to join us in the snug area and experience bar games, television and the local regional newspapers.

Whilst we hope you stay locally and enjoy the hospitality, the owners of the Old school suggest three other destinations within 30 minutes drive, these are; Cabarceno, this wildlife park is worth a visit, with wild animals free to roam in their natural habitat. We can offer family discounted tickets when booked with us in advance. Enjoy the stunning white sandy beach contrasting the turquoise blue sea at Somo, Loredo and ''El Puntal". Finally we have Lierganes, the most stunning spanish town, built over 500 years ago, marvel in the authentic architecture of this medieval settlement, including the famous Roman bridge over the river Miera.
