We are on the outskirts of the village of Madremanya, a medieval village at the foothills of the Gavarres, a small mountain range. We are in the country with lots of paths ideal for cycling. Very quiet and away from it all. Kids enjoy playing on the property as they have lots of space to run around. We stable horses too. It is quite safe. There are no shops in the village but a good restaurant, there are many restaurants in the area. To go shopping you have to go to La Bisbal d'Empordà, a 10 minute drive by car. In your cottage you will find a booklet with suggestions on what to do in the area, such as going canoeing on the river Ter, or visiting a turtle reserve. The coast is twenty minutes away with lots of activities to do or instead , finding a quiet cove. As from Easter they organise boat trips to see the coast. Girona is worth visiting, the volcanic region too of Olot aswell as going for a day trip to Barcelona on the train. Many guests enjoy visiting the region and coming back to the not so touristy Madremanya, they enjoy, the space, the pool, to relax and get ready for the next day trip. In the summer there are many festivities. Every village organises it's own. The markets are also nice.
