From the very first moment we were guided here, we committed ourselves to breathing life back into this space, where centuries ago it was a working farm. Set in the heart of the Gavarres massif, in the village of Cruïlles, in the Baix Empordà, at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level. The property is made up of two independent houses and includes seven spacious suites, dining rooms, living room, swimming pool, horse stables, organic vegetable garden and is set in extensive grounds. For all these reasons, it offers the perfect environment to find oneself again, disconnecting from daily activities, without giving up the comforts that make daily life easier. Life at Can Font de Muntanya goes slowly, without rushing. We live with all the necessary comforts, but we are totally self-sufficient in the production of electricity, water and heating. Electricity is generated by capturing the sun’s energy, water is supplied by the five hundred-year-old wells on the estate, and heating is provided by burning the wood we obtain from clearing the forest. We also have a gas tank and a generator so that, should the weather be bad, we have a fully guaranteed supply. As we know, natural resources are scarce, therefore, we ask our clients to use electricity, water and heating correctly and efficiently. Both nature and ourselves will be very grateful to you. Eating is a source of pleasure, but also a reflection of who we are, what we believe in, and a way of relating to the world around us. Our chef offers us a gastronomic proposal inspired by our organic garden, respecting the flavour, aromas and textures of local products of the highest quality. Treated with a fragile balance between passion and respect, where creativity only makes sense if it enhances the virtues of the ingredients and does not alter their flavour. We especially invite you to taste and enjoy the vegan proposals with a special prominence of our organic vegetable garden that will surprise you with such lively and extraordinary flavours in our Espai Bucòlic.
