Radisson Blu Hotel, Cairo Heliopolis, hotel in Cairo

Nothing at all. I did not like anything. The service is very bad. Their homes are very low quality. It's written that it's 4 Stars hotel, but actually it's 2 stars, first time in my whole life, I hid about a hotel that they cut off water suddenly on the residents. And that's what actually happened for half an hour and 2 days before it the same problem, even electricity was going down for some time, it's very bad experience, i will never repeat it and I will not advise anyone to use this hotel at all, it's not only my opinion, it's the same opinion for my other 4 family members. Everyone of them took her room, and we all regret it.

FAQs about hotels in Cairo

Resting Place of Pharaohs

Born of an ancient civilisation, Cairo is a vast metropolis centred around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over it into Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.

The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artefacts, including finds from Tutankhamun’s tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.

East is Islamic Cairo, home to 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk – remember to haggle. The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.

If you want to step out of cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.

Before heading to your Cairo accommodation, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Turkish coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

    The food was amazing.

The food was amazing. The rich history of the city is something to experience, the museums and archaeological sights. It is very affordable as a city to travel in via ubers and excursions are affordable. Try Abou Tarek for famous and delicious Koshary for dinner. It is also definitely worth venturing out to Saqqara for the day to see Memphis and the even older Pyramids (Red, Step and Bent). Try visiting in October-April as the temperature is bearable then. Also, visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation for the royal mummies exhibit as well as Khan el Kahlil bazaar for souvenir and shopping it’s a massive shopping bazaar. Also lunch at Pizza Hut overlooking the Giza pyramids is a must. As well as visiting Cairo’s Coptic Quarter and seeing ancient churches like the Hanging Church. If you are a student remember your student ID each attraction offers a large student discount.

My resort was out of Cairo near the pyramids.

My resort was out of Cairo near the pyramids. This was my second trip to Cairo. In 2019, before I joined my guided tour, I spent 3 days as a solo female and was always greeted with great respect. I organised taxis through my hotel and they would tell me the approximate price I should pay which helped on the return trip.

Cairo has continued a downhill trajectory.

Cairo has continued a downhill trajectory. Polluted, with time-consuming traffic. New Cairo (administrative capital) is far from old Cairo city. Culture still has many problems of hygiene. If you venture outside of your hotel, be sure to bring toilet paper and some sort of disinfectant (as many bathrooms have none, and are just plain dirty). Long lines in poorly-run airport. I now only travel to Cairo for work, if absolutely necessary.

The best hotel ever, I have stayed in many other hotels and I did not find the comfort, security and good service I found in this hotel, it deserves more than 5 stars! The location is excellent, as the wonderful view of the pyramids of Giza directly from the room and the statue of the Sphinx, and I thank all those who helped me in this place, and finally the cleanliness of the rooms is great❤️
