Casa Alquimia was within easy walking distance from the historic city center. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the breakfast, it tasted great and was very filling. The bed was so comfortable and the showers were hot! I had a late flight and they stored my bag for me throughout the day after I had checked out. The hotel was pretty quiet from the noise of the city and it felt safe.

Too much traffic, and too much traffic pollution. They really need to improve the roads. Also, many tourist places, require too much money for literally nothing. When I went to church, the entrance cost money, but going to the second floor cost additional, then to the 3'rd floor cost even more money. I really don't like money culture that Quito has built up.

Quito has a very bad reputation at the moment for theft and violence. It did not feel comfortable walking around in the old city even during the day. Outside of Quito is much different. Loved Otavalo for example.

If you are coming to Quito book here. You’ll enjoy it. The rooms are huge and again the staff amazing. It’s a beautiful building interior and you can tell they spent time furnishing it properly.

A gd stop over place if ppl plan to visit either Amazon or Galapagos. Not fresh air, city on hill obviously narrow street, heavy traffic all the time. Kinda cash priority city, Travellers would be charged ridiculous prices if pay by credit card, not only high processing fee, also be added on tips without even being asked! Kinda a bit scammy, and hustle around from my personal opinion!
General price would be almost as equal as in USA.

Quito is beautiful with many historical places to see, towers to climb, food to eat, however the crime is awful. There are police on basically every corner but sadly most are just staring at their phones. My phone was snatched out my hands while getting out of a taxi, however not one of the dozen police could do anything about it.

I spent 3 nights at Latinos Brothers House and I felt so welcome in Ecuador. The guys Octavio and Oskar have been the absolute hosts, friends. The guys showed us around the city of Quito and invited us to many parties. On the last night we lit a fire on their beautiful terrace and played music and had a great time. The hostel is super central and across the street has the market and mini markets.
The hostel was decorated with love and always had hot water.
An absolutely recommendable hostel.
I really enjoyed my stay here at El Patio! The hosts are lovely and accommodating! Central location to explore all the sites of Quito including the nightlife, but also a quiet vibe to relax and rest after long hikes. Modern, spacious and clean! Planning on making this my home base as I explore around Ecuador, and can’t wait to return! Ask Johana and Cyntia for coffee and lunch recommendations here in the neighborhood! They won’t disappoint!
Both our room and the restaurant have the best view of old town Quito.
Very kind staff at front desk and in the restaurant. Great food for dinner and just about the best hotel breakfast ever.
Thank you for organising the transport from the airport - most welcome after a long journey.
I had a great time in Ecuador. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends
