HERE is your ideal starting point for all activities around the Werraland, the Hainich and the Rennsteig. Our entire region is one of the most scenic in Thuringia. We are located directly at the interface between Werratal and Hainich, embedded in two large conservation areas, the Eichsfeld - Hainich - Werratal Nature Park and the Hainich National Park. The Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal Nature Park is one of the most beautiful and valuable landscapes in Germany. It offers space for biotopes that are rare in Central Europe and a wide range of opportunities to observe nature. In addition, Germany's oldest and longest hiking trail - the Rennsteig - begins just 10 km from Ifta. It is 170 km long and with around 100,000 hikers annually it is also the most popular long-distance hiking trail.
