The property is located at a quiet and safe residential area in southern Hamburg which is called "Harburg-Eißendorf". It is a gateway to some famous attractions of Hamburg like "Fischbeker Heide" and it is close to a wider area called "Altes Land" which includes a number of beautiful suburbs which you can explore by bike. In addition, you can easily reach the Technical University of Hamburg in roughly 15 minutes by foot or even quicker by bike. Local amenities like supermarkets, shops, restaurants and cafés are nearby, too. It takes around 30-40 minutes to get to the city centre by bus and train. The property is a detached house with a separate ground and first floor as well as a fully developed basement. The landlords, a friendly and welcoming family, live on the ground floor and I live on the "attic floor". Another person permanently rents out a room in the basement. We feel like a small community and sometimes spend a lot of time together chatting, playing games or having a BBQ outside. That's why we all carefully look after the property. I'm Phil and I work as a special needs teacher at a public primary school. I enjoy ordinary things like meeting friends, travelling, watching movies or going out for dinner. For me, Hamburg is one of the most exciting and fabulous cities in Germany because there are a lot of cultural, architectural, social, culinary and other opportunities to pick from and relish. I love interacting with people from all around the world because one of my passions is learning new languages. Moreover, I've been raised in a bicultural and bilingual environment and due to my work and other circumstances I've been increasingly sensitive to social, racial and any other discrimination. If I had to choose three adjectives to describe myself it'd be chatty, respectful and funny. However, I am really fond of peace and quiet because my job is demanding and.. clamorous! Harburg is a residential area in southern Hamburg that is comparatively close to the main station (a train ride from there to Harburg-Rathaus takes about 25 minutes). It is popular among students and young people as rents are cheaper than in the centre. Here you'll find everything you need regarding daily supplies (bakeries, supermarkets etc.) and even some simple culinary options.
