The apartments are managed by the Smetana’s Litomyšl o.p.s. that is, at the same time, the organizer of one of the most important Czech classic music festivals - the Smetana’s Litomyšl National Festival. During the festival, the apartments serve as a base for the famous soloists and conductors, however apart of the festival period you can give them a try too! We are very experienced in providing the best possible services for the festival’s performers and visitors and we want to look after you with the very same care. It is our priority to make you feel comfortable here – the chateau and our beautiful historic town helps it a big deal after all! Nevertheless, we welcome your comments and ideas so we can further improve our services.

Our motto „Accommodation with the muses“ indicates that your stay will be accompanied by art. The “Musical Apartment – Bedřich Smetana“ is located directly above the native flat of this music composer. The eminent Czech sculptor Olbram Zoubek together with his fellow artists stayed in what is today the “Artistic Apartment – Olbram Zoubek” during the time they had worked on the restoration works on the renaissance chateau sgraffitos. The “Literary Apartment – Alois Jirásek” reminds not only this writer but also a number of others that lived and worked in Litomyšl. Our wish is to make the accommodation itself a unique travel experience. You will find here a well-deserved rest and privacy. That is why all the apartments have well-equipped kitchen so you will be fully self-sufficient. However, in case of any need we will be ready help you with anything. There are occasional concerts, theatres or wedding ceremonies in the castle area, then it can be noisier.

From the apartment windows you can investigate the renaissance chateau’s unique sgraffito decoration – the apartments are located just next to it. You can go for a walk to the chateau gardens, take a rest with an excellent cup of coffee in a café nearby; for an ice cream or a picnic on the lawn you are welcome to visit the Monastery Gardens that are just across the street. There is music being played there all day long and the views to the whole town and the majestic Piarist Church are breathtaking. You can also visit the interior of the church which has a great viewpoint and several exhibitions. The municipal sport facilities (indoor swimming pool etc.) as well as the town’s surroundings with marked routes for tourists and cyclists offer wide range sport activities. A town’s calendar offers various tips for cultural and social events. Just choose.
