Spanglish School & Hostel -Stay with us as a hostel, so you could arrive any day and, if you wish, participate in our activities without taking Spanish classes. The school program is designed by weeks starting every Monday, so, if you want to take the Spanish class packages you should arrive on Sunday to settle in. Fully immerse yourself in the Colombian culture by following Spanish classes between the Andes mountains. Our school is located just outside of the beautiful town Jericó. The classes are taught by experienced teachers and the afternoons are filled with different cultural and natural activities. For example, a hike to a waterfall or engaging with the people from town. Surrounded by mountains and trees, one can breathe pure and fresh air in the mornings, perfect for studying, reading, or doing yoga while listening to the birds sing. The nights are quiet, with only the sound of nature lulling one to sleep.

The classes are taught by experienced teachers. Our methodology is based on communicative approach and focus on communicative grammar. In which the most important thing is to develop the student's communication skills so that they can become independent communicators. In addition, the different school activities are designed to provide students with an immersive experience in Spanish language and Colombian culture, both inside and outside the classroom. This way, our students will have the need to use their Spanish communication skills in their daily lives, which will speed up and reinforce their learning process. In the afternoons, you will have cultural, natural, and language immersion activities that will complement this learning and discovery experience of Spanish language and Colombian culture. Jericó is an important cultural center in the department of Antioquia that greatly influenced the region's development, so this beautiful town has a wide variety of museums and historical sites. In addition, its nature and geography are wonderful, hiding magnificent views and beautiful waterfalls of fresh and crystalline water among its green mountains. Moreover, the people in the town are a living example of the kindness and warmth that characterize Paisa culture, so in our immersive activities, you will discover life stories of the locals, thus developing your Spanish skills while making new friends.

Jericó is a beautiful and small town just 2 and a half hours southwest of Medellin. Its average temperature ranges from 14°C to 23°C (57°F to 73°F), and it is surrounded by green forests and mountains that hide beautiful views, rivers, and waterfalls. Jericó was of great importance to the economic and cultural development of the Antioquia department, so much so that it is called “La Atenas del Suroeste” (The Athens of the Southwest). Today, it has a great variety of museums and historical sites. In addition, its colonial architecture streets and buildings are picturesque and beautiful. Along with its botanical garden, many churches, and central square, has made many people call “el pueblito más hermoso de Antioquia” (the most beautiful little town in Antioquia), and, in 2013, it was designated as a Pueblo Patrimonio (heritage town) of Colombia. Its gastronomy and coffee tradition are also worth mentioning, as it has a great variety of restaurants with exquisite food, and its coffee is considered one of the best in Antioquia.
