The project has been ongoing and under construction for the last 7 years and has been inspired by the creators’ involvement and experience in various Berlin industries including the Circus, music festivals and boat collectives. It is a community project of sorts, offering love and support to local Costeño farmers. We enjoy diversity and our Team is multilingual and multinational. We are a hostel located at kilometer 47 on the road to Riohacha, about a 20-minute drive up into the mountains. We're 70 km from Santa Marta Airport and 13 km from Tayrona National Park. From here, you'll enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. With a focus on ecotourism, we aim to make the most of the natural beauty of the land and share it with you. We cultivate some of the fruits and tubers that we later lovingly serve in our restaurant. We offer a variety of services, including accommodation in private, family, and shared rooms, a restaurant, bar, dance and yoga classes, coffee and cocoa tours, horseback riding tours along the beach or in the mountains, and occasionally, depending on the weather, we offer the exciting activity of paragliding. Our facilities are designed with the vision that the entire hostel resembles a ship, visible from the beach: a ship in the mountains. Additionally, we aim to honor the identity of the local indigenous communities, some of whom are part of our construction team, reflecting their culture in the design of some of our rooms. We have a 2-meter deep swimming pool, a bonfire area, industrial and dry bathrooms, as well as outdoor showers with ocean views. Our restaurant stands out for offering an authentic coastal culinary experience, inspired by the culinary traditions of Santa Marta, Barranquilla, and La Guajira. Spacious and welcoming, our menu includes hamburgers, rice dishes, pastas, sandwiches, breakfasts, and salads, all prepared with fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors.

Puerto Alto is a remote eco-hostel in the beautiful nature of the Sierra Nevada, 290 meters from the highway and 951 feet high so it has an unmissable view. When you arrive at our Port you will undertake a fairly steep walk!!! and it lasts 15 minutes without luggage having a good physique !!! We do not recommend it for the elderly or with any physical disability. We recommend arriving during the day, bringing hydration and sending your luggage by motorcycle (mototaxi hours until 8:00 p.m.). You can also arrange a mule ride a day in advance. Many of our toilets are dry toilets. We use solar energy, so we turn off the light at 12 midnight and turn it on again at 7 am.
