Caviano is a beautiful, tranquil little village on Lake Maggiore. A recommendable nearby osteria (open from mid-March until the end of the season), a small bodega, picturesque alleys, a football pitch and a petrol station with shop complete the offer. If you too like to enjoy your holiday away from the tourist hustle and bustle and like to sit in the sun for longer in the evening with a delicious sundowner, then Gambarogno is the right lakeside spot for you. You can explore the beautiful surroundings of Gambarogno via numerous - partly steep, challenging, well-signposted - hiking trails. You can start directly at the garden gate. Even train spotters get their money's worth - although the trains can hardly be heard from the house. Ascona, the Swiss pearl of the region, can be reached in about 20 minutes by car. You can also make a detour to Italy (border only 1 km away) and do extensive shopping for your daily needs, for example, in nearby Luino (approx. 16 km). From Luino you can also take numerous trips by boat. For example, in 25 minutes to Cannobio - with its well-known Sunday weekly market with its flair.
