We've lived on Vancouver Island for almost 20 years now and we know it's the best place on Earth. We just finished building this property in 2019 and it was designed with vacation rentals in mind. We've been hosts previously in other properties for the last 15 years so we had a good idea of what we did and didn't want and hopefully we got it right to make your stay the best. There's a selection of hot drinks available when you get there along with milk, bread for toast and a selection of spreads. There is a full kitchen if you want to cook during your stay or there is a restaurant and pub both within a 10 minute walk if you don't. And plenty choices for food delivery. You will find that the cottage will have the beds made up for your arrival with fresh linens. An appropriate number of towels will also await your arrival. Housekeeping will replace all linens and towels on scheduled housekeeping days. If you need anything else just contact us. There's some of the best salmon and halibut fishing in the world. There's skiing up island at Mount Washington Alpine Resort. We have more gold courses than you'll have time to get round, even some on the Gulf Islands.

North Saanich is a rural community and we are on the edge of it getting the best of the quiet countryside but being conveniently close to town and highway. The property is rural enough to have a nest of bald eagles in the back garden but close enough to town that the Chinese, Indian, Thai and Pizza restaurants still deliver. We have local attractions like the famous Butchart Gardens 15 minutes away and the BC Aviation Museum just 3 minutes away. From the Sidney seafront you can see orcas, seals, sea lions, dolphins and at the right time of year hump back whales. And there is always the new hobby of Royal spotting as you try not to trip over Harry and Megan in one of our local parks. Anyone who has watched the TV show "Alone" on the History Channel knows that Vancouver Island is not Vancouver. Take a trip to VIctoria and there are deer everywhere nowadays. Travel on to Sooke or Mill Bay and the bears start to appear. Head up to Duncan and beyond and we have elk, wolves and cougars although they are harder to spot. Even without the wildlife there is lots to see on cycle and walking trails, numerous beaches and parks large and small. And it's only 25 minutes to downtown Victoria.
