Breakwater Lodge is a classic Victoria century home set in a quiet fishing village on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Breakwater was completely renovated in 2013. It's stunning and well-equipped to host you overnight, during a weekend getaway, a week-long vacation, or longer stays. Careful attention is paid to provide you with the cleanest, neatest, and most comfortable accommodation in the area. The Atlantic Ocean is right outside your door, with several beautiful white sand beaches just minutes from Breakwater Lodge. You will find your neighbours quiet, respectful, and ready to lend a hand at a moment's notice.
As you can see by my profile image (the guy in the red shirt), I am totally family-oriented with a lifelong passion for hosting others and meeting their needs. As a long-serving senior military officer, foster parent, and community leader, I seek to continually create an environment full of opportunities where others can thrive. Breakwater epitomize this life purpose. Along with Darla Goreham as property manager, we seek to provide you with the best possible experience during your stay at Breakwater. Breakwater Lodge is located in Woods Harbour, a quintessential Nova Scotia fishing village. Woods Harbour is a quiet and peaceful community of well cared for homes where residents are friendly, accepting, and always available to assist and lend a helping hand. Working wharfs, fish plants, and lobster pounds are close by, along with essential services, a convenience store, pizza shop, and ice cream parlour. Village sidewalks and a public access wharf are right outside your door where you can jog, run, bike, walk, or stroll while taking in the view of the Atlantic Ocean and the many Cape Island fishing boats that come and go from the harbour. Area beaches are spectacular and offer hours of enjoyment. Local fare can be readily experienced at Capt'n Kat's Seafood Restaurant and Dan's Ice Cream Shop in Barrington Passage located a short distance away. Hikers and runners will enjoy the Shelburne County Rail Trail just steps behind Breakwater Lodge. A former rail bed, this walking and bike path extends for miles along the Lighthouse Route. You will come to appreciate the good neighbours and great neighbourhood of Woods Harbour after a couple of nights stay at Breakwater Lodge.
