Imagine waking up to Toucans and Parrots singing in the trees. Small monkeys arrive for photos. Crickets and other jungle sounds close the day at dusk. Enjoy fresh bananas, papayas, passion fruit and mangos from our own gardens at breakfast. On hot summer days, gentle breezes cool our poolside garden terraces and bar. You feel as though you’re somewhere out in the countryside of Brazil. But in reality, you’re right here in Rio just minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city. A charming B&B in a heritage style home, nestled in an oasis of green. Set on a hillside, just a short way up a quaint, cobble stoned colonial road, surrounded by remnants of Atlantic forest. For those who enjoy exercise and taking in the views, you’re walking distance from the 2 major tourist attractions or from Botafogo metro station. A short ride by metro will take you to Copacabana and Ipanema beaches or the churches, museums and galleries in Rio’s Historic City Center and if you prefer not to walk, Rio’s taxis or Uber services are inexpensive.

We enjoy receiving guests from all parts of the world, trading information and sharing insights with respect to culture, language, tourism and the day to day life experiences with respect to Brazil and the country of origin of our guests. We love to travel ourselves and appreciate the opportunity to help those who stay with us try to get us much out of their time in Rio as possible.

Botafogo is just next to Copacabana. Our old colonial cobble stoned road, leads us to Laranjeiras and Cosme Velho, where not to be missed are the Corcovado Train ride to the Christ Statue and the Largo do Boticário. Laranjeiras offers many restaurants, handicrafts shops and every Saturday, a wonderful local market with live music. Once just “on the way to Copa”, Botafogo today is in constant renewal. Referred to as the SoHo “Carioca”, or BotaSoHo, it offers a wide selection and some of the best restaurants and gourmet venues in Rio. Also, excellent options for entertainment, including clubs, bars, book shops, delis, cinemas and theaters. Here you will find a lively after-work crowd in the many pubs and restaurants that line Botafogo metro station. One of the best hamburgers in Rio or a quiet setting to enjoy a cappuccino or light meal in a book shop. An energizing and gregarious crowd in the night clubs or perhaps an interesting cultural experience in the Museum of the Indian, a visit to Rui Barbosa’s home or, for something completely different a stroll through the São João Batista Cemetery – on par with the one so often visited by tourists in Buenos Aires, but without the crowds.
