Maré Zen is a brand new flat in the heart of Gamboa. It combines classic, rustic and modern styles and includes hand made furniture and a selection of pieces by local artists and designers. Each flat has a charming bedroom with air conditioning and a queen sized bed, private bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, charming living room and a balcony with a hammock and views of the garden.
Hi, I'm Maristela. I´m from Salvador, Bahia and my mother is from Gamboa, she was born and bred in the bungalow next to the Maré Zen flats. For me Gamboa is a home away from home, I have lots of family and friends here and I´ve spent most of my holidays there since childhood, many happy memories…. I love traveling, new adventures, sports, Yoga, Ayurvedic medicine and meeting new people. After enjoying countless summers here my family and I decided to build two flats so that we can share this piece of paradise with others. I graduated in Tourism, I have lived abroad and I have extensive experience in the hotel industry, so I understand what guests need. We hope that you´ll feel immediately at home at Maré Zen. We can provide tips on how to get the most out of your vacation, as well as support in communicating in English and French. Currently, the flat is equipped with a rainwater collection system and over time we intend to install solar energy. Our aim is to be fully sustainable as soon as possible.
Vila da Gamboa is a place unlike anything you've ever seen, a fishermen's colony where no cars circulate, taking you, traveler, to beautiful walks through its interior, contemplating a scenario that looks more like a movie. The residents are polite and welcoming, their squares and streets are calm, safe and wooded. A paradise inhabited by simple and welcoming people who value their traditions and tranquility. The village enchants by its stress-free liveliness, it is not difficult to find children playing, ladies knitting on the doors, groups of young people playing sports and people available for a relaxed chat. This is an ideal place to bring your family to relax! The beach, with fine white sand, is in full harmony with a crystal clear sea. Located on the main street, Maré Zen is less than 5 minutes walk from Praça N. ​​S da Penha, the main village square, and from restaurants, pharmacy, hamburger, pizzeria, bars, cafeterias, bakeries, supermarkets and gallery. It is two minutes walk from the fine white sand beach, and just ten minutes by boat from the bustling Morro de São Paulo. Extremely close to the pier and all amenities.
