Jubilee Heights is only a 7 minute drive from the town centre, through banana and sugar cane plantations, and past green pastures where cows and kangaroos mingle. Located in a wildlife corridor, you are also likely to encounter cassowaries, wallabies, goannas, a variety of bird species, butterflies and the resident water dragon. Living in paradise also means being prepared for the Wet Season. Typically, October to April this brings monsoonal activity that can include high humidity, heavy rainfall, strong winds and flash flooding. This kind of weather event can be inconvenient but is part of life in the Tropics. During periods of heavy rainfall, the creek may fill rapidly and run over the driveway. The waters can flow fast making the area inaccessible for a while. It is not safe to cross at this time. Once the rain subsides, it tends to clear quite quickly. To appreciate the magnificence of the rainforest, there are no window coverings. Your privacy is assured by the unique elevation of the rooms and the furniture layout set deep into the large bedroom spaces. The day starts gently with sunrise to the rear and left of the property. Innisfail is the undiscovered jewel of the Cassowary Coast! The art deco town is central to the many local attractions of the region, and away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Easy to get around by car, there are plenty of scenic spots to explore and things to do. Favourites would include swimming at Etty Bay, Josephine Creek and Babinda Boulders. Surrounded by National Park, be sure to adventure the many hiking trails and waterfall circuits. Kayaking the Babinda Creek and exploring The Great Barrier Reef’s Frankland Islands would be a highlight. Tours are plentiful too, like the Tropical Art Deco walk, Snapping Tours sunset cruise, Charley’s Chocolate Factory, Banana Farm touring and Cassowary Culture Tours. A ‘must do’ is visiting Paronella Park and Mamu Tropical Skywalk to take in the spectacular panoramic views of World Heritage rainforest landscapes. Make sure your holiday pics include the most picturesque sunrise from Flying Fish Point while sunset above the Johnstone River is certainly Instaworthy too!
