Set on a lovely property featuring a vineyard, olive grove and river, Taras Richmond Farmstay offers country-style accommodation with free breakfast and free WiFi. Guests can interact with a variety of local farm animals including lambs, sheep, ponies and ducks. The apartments feature a private patio with beautiful garden views. They include a flat-screen TV, DVD player and a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, microwave and refrigerator. Some provide a private BBQ area. Your free continental breakfast includes a basket with a selection of cereals, fresh-baked bread, homemade jams, plunger coffee and fresh seasonal fruit. Taras Farmstay is an 3-minute drive from Richmond town centre where a variety of shops, cafés and restaurants can be found. Zoodoo Wildlife Park is 15 minutes’ drive and Hobart International Airport is 30 minutes’ drive away. The property reception works from 2pm until 8pm. The outdoor BBQ area overlooks the Coal River.

Taras Richmond Farmstay is a small, family operated working farm which incorporates eco-friendly practices . We have a range of animals and crops - which change year to year and season-to-season. In Spring guests may see baby animals, in Summer guests can pick fresh fruits (including raspberries) from the orchard and in Winter its always cosy and warm in our well-insulated and double glazed apartments and cottages. Explore the property, rest and relax or use us as a base to explore southern Tasmania.
We are busy making the most of life. We realise not everyone has the opportunity to live in the country and feel fortunate to share with others.
Richmond town is a small but busy Georgian Village with lots of history including the Richmond Bridge - oldest bridge in Australia which is still in use, an old gaol (jail) and other buildings. Its also easy driving distance to Hobart, so you get the best of both worlds - city and country. Easy days trips can take you to see incredible scenery, mountains, beaches, on a boat cruise or scenic flight. If you want to be close to everything but enjoy a peaceful, homely place to stay, then go to Taras Richmond Farmstay.
