Sylvan Beach Resort is beachside overlooking the beautiful Pumicestone Passage. Popular for fishing and boating, there are two boat ramps a few metres along the Esplanade. The Passage is safe for swimming and is home to marine life such as dolphins and dugongs. Across the road from the Sylvan Beach Resort is a large park area, stretching all the way down the Esplanade, providing barbeque facilities, children's playgrounds and picnic facilities all right by the waters edge. Recommended is a cruise on The Ferryman which offers a variety of daytime and evening cruises including food and beverages. Bribie Island is very flat, so suitable for walking and cycling, with waterside paths provided for both. There are a number of cafes and restaurants within walking distance and the main shopping centre is also just a short walk away.
