It is a very old fashion place to stay on a sheep farm, but it is not too old fashioned to have separate hot and cold water taps :) I enjoyed the way the house is styled, it shows good taste. Bathroom is all new though and very comfortable. Plenty...

  • Are there any petting areas of other access to the farm animals?

As this is a working sheep farm...all of our sheep run away when you approach them...however we have the most friendly puppy called Herbert who loves interacting with the guests.

As SuperHosts, our guests understand how staying on a working farm is different from other places..... most of the time this is a quiet place to stay with birds telling their stories and lambs chatting with their mums and each other. We have 3 working sheep dogs, so if you don't like dogs, this is not the place for you. Herbie, the border collie, love a pat from the guests. Occasionally they bark at night, they are usually telling the foxes to keep away from the lambs and growling at the rabbits and possums in the moonlight. Our farmers are very busy and generally start their day around 8 am and try their best to keep noise to a minimum. Nature is at your doorstep so we try our hardest to keep them outside however sometimes we lose the battle with the odd one finding its way in occasionally. This farm only has rain water in tanks. The water is suitable for drinking however we also supply commercial water if you prefer. All of our guests are asked to use water saving methods like short showers, turning the tap off whilst washing your teeth, etc. Please remember that even SuperHosts are human. If I have forgotten something or you need something...please let me know. Our intention is to make your stay comfortable. There are many special things about this accommodation.... it stands alone...attached to the great outdoors... it is unique and rustic with awesome views with sunrise streaming in from the mountains...if you don't shut the curtains :) it is warm and cosy OR cool with a reversecycle airconditioner/heater... there is a kitchen with microwave, toaster, kettle and small oven with 2 hot plates... a new BBQ on the verandah is great for cooking too... there is a queen size bed upstairs and a television... Teas and coffee, cereal, bread and spreads and 2 litres of fresh milk are always provided free of charge. Our mini bar has lots of things for you to buy like frozen meals, desserts, icecream, cheese, crackers, wine, sweet biscuits, chocolates etc. Cash please.
Hi. I'm Karen. We have been hosting Aussie and international guests since 2011 and understand the traveller's needs. Self check-in is available so you don't need to contact me and tell me that you are running late because your adventure has been so exciting that time got away on you. Your room will be ready and unlocked for you at 2pm. If I see you drive in, I will come over and say G'Day. Just drive across the grass and park out the front and let yourselves in. There are maps of the Grampians available in your room too.
