Childers Nature Camp is a nature based and eco friendly campground with a focus on getting back to nature with preserving flora and fauna now and into the future. This campground is 45 acres nestled in light bush just off the highway and minutes from town with access to beaches shops, local wineries. We are 30min from woodgate beach and 45min from bundy. We have camp sites, caravan / motorhome sites, nature walks, kids discos, live bands and dams for fishing, we have heaps of wildlife and it’s a bird watchers paradise. We have planted 500 native trees at the camp to date. We recycle most of our waste and all the money the camp receives from our bottles and cans recycling program is donated to angels community group homeless shelter Bundaberg. We have many future plans with the fundraising side of things from hosting future benefit concerts and small scale events. We are all about supporting the local community. Our problem is all bottles and cans that are not marked 10c are taken to the local landfill site even though they are made from the same glass as the 10c bottles and what can we end up doing with the dreaded uht milk bottles and also a solution to all the plastic lids from the 10c bottles and the soft plastics we have to send to landfill each time we as a small business would like more solutions to not send anything to landfill at all we live in a regional town that is behind the times and would like to set an example and step it up more now and into the future.
