Great location, it was close to Khaosan Road but secluded enough that it was super quiet. Hosts were beyond nice and very accommodating especially when we arrived in the middle of the night. Provided us with waters and let us store our stuff after we checked out.

The Yard Bangkok Hostel has a 24-hour reception and an on-site bar. The staff was extremely friendly! The next day, I had difficulty communicating with a Grab driver, and the staff helped me make a call to him, ensuring the driver could easily pick me up.

Very cute property in a quiet non-touristy area. There were lots of food stalls within easy walking distance and 10 minutes from the train station. The best thing, though, was the customer service. We were welcomed like we were family. Check-in is from noon to midnight. The owner let us drop off our luggage early so we could go exploring. He and his wife met us when we checked in at 8 PM. We had arranged to have our train tickets delivered to the hotel in advance, but they hadn't arrived. Without being asked the owner spent over an hour tracking them down for us and making arrangements got us to get new tickets when we arrived at the station.

The property is around 1.5 km from Temple of the Emerald Buddha, 1.9 km from Bangkok National Museum and 2.7 km from Wat Saket. The property is non-smoking and is situated 1.6 km from Grand Palace. This is probably the best review I have ever given an accomodation so far. This family owned business is extremely clean with basic amenities. They don't allow shoes on the upper floors so they provide slippers. I got lucky my room was on the first floor since they don't have a lift but the walk to the upper floors won't hurt your knees either due to the good distance between each stairs leading one floor to another. I arrived in Bangkok around midnight (a few hours later than expected), distressed and upset due to a delayed flight and cancellation of a tour I made prior. The owner was so nice, patiently waited for my arrival and sympathetic to my situation. I didn't have time to have dinner, let alone have currencies exchanged to Baht ready upon check in (I thought the reservation was paid when I gave booking.com my card details but it wasn't) so he just accepted Euros equivalent to the payment for the room to keep as deposit and he gave it back to me the next day when I was finally able to exchange currencies. He also gave me a map and some useful directions around Bangkok, some more useful tips here and there, and even offered to book a taxi for me on my return to the airport. The location is amazing! Walking distance to wat pho, grand palace and emerald budha, and the piers going directly to wat arun, icon Siam and many more. I work with 5 star hotels so I know a clean accomodation when I see one and this hostel did not disappoint. Highly recommended!
