One of the best backpacker I’ve stayed at. The staff are amazingly friendly, always available and happy to help or chat. The place offer every free facility you can dream of: ping pong, pools, hamac and even a home cinema! At night everybody is welcome to share some burned marshmallows around the barbecue. The dorms are nicely organised in old containers and the beds are comfy. You’re 5 min away from the beach or the track. Highly recommended!

Berlins cafe, bar and backpackers has a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Newton Flat. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and free WiFi. The facility was clean and inviting. We were greeted with a warm welcome. The Cafe served great food.

Charming hidden gem tucked away from the main road, if you are getting away from the busy city vibe, this is the place to be. Jonathan was there to greet us even though we were late.

Situated in Takaka, Annies Nirvana Lodge Backpackers has a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. Queen bed in a room. Four bathrooms meant one was always free. Two kitchens. Tonnes of outdoor seating/table space. Super short walk to supermarket, liquor store and the pub at the end of the street. Right in town near outskirts - short walk to anywhere. Close to many natural attractions - can walk to some if keen.

Set in Kaiteriteri, 80 metres from Kaiteriteri Beach, Kaiteri Lodge offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. This hostel was better than I expected. It is not really a party place as some comments I have read suggested. I liked the kitchen and the outside area and that there was enough space in the room for everyone's luggage.

Lovely stay, great atmosphere and the kindest people running this place! We forgot a pair of hiking shoes in our room and Happy Apple helped us shipping a parcel to our next stay!
