Haka House Bay of Islands is a welcoming and stylish hostel located just across from the scenic Paihia wharf, offering cosy, practical accommodations with million-dollar views of the stunning surroundings. the best hostel I ever stayed in...this is my 2nd time here and hopefully can come back again in the future

Under new management from mid 2022 and just 80 metres from Paihia Beach, Peppertree Lodge & Backpackers features a barbecue area with outdoor seating.

Peppertree Lodge & Backpackers Paihia is less than 5 minutes’ walk from the Maritime Centre and Paihia Scenic Reserve. The Waitangi Treaty Grounds are a 5-minute drive. Kerikeri Airport is a 25-minute drive away. En-suite washroom was handy and a full kitchen downstairs was nice to prepare breakfasts in the morning. A very friendly staff dog to pet at the reception office and curious cat visitor was fun to relax with outside by the covered deck.

Guests can play table tennis and darts in the hostel games room (during low season) or ask the tour desk about nearby activities such as kayaking, cycling and hiking. Centabay was my favourite hostel that I stayed at in New Zealand!!! I loved the vibrant atmosphere, the lovely backpacker-staff and the wonderful manager who was always a joy to chat with. The prices are incredibly reasonable for a place in the middle of Paihia, and you can tell the manager isn't in it for the profit - she genuinely wants to help travellers have the best experience possible. The hot tub worked well and was always great to use. The hammocks and tropical garden are another bonus. I could go on and on!
