The people were really nice. The location was also very good - central location, close to restaurants, convenience stores and walking distance to the train station. This property was stunningly beautiful, a wonderful old Japanese tea house. We were absolutely delighted. Not for those looking for a luxurious modern hotel, but absolutely perfect for us. Very close to everywhere we wanted to go, right next to Nara park, but not far from the station. Takashi, our host, was charming and spoke perfect English. He recommended where to go and returned to the house to show us how to turn the heating on when it got cold. We had a wonderful stay and we already miss it!

Fantastic dinner and breakfast (well worth choosing after booking). Comfy simple room. Parking available and great walks near the guesthouse.

Open in 2017, Nara Deer Hostel- - 外国人向け - 日本人予約不可 is located just a 5-minutes walk from JR Nara Station and an 8-minutes walk from Kintetsu Nara Station. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property.... Forgot an envelope with 10,000 inside of it. The staff bank transferred the money within a few hours at their own expense (for transfer charge). The stay in its entirety was great.
