Sounds of chirping birds, light wind, scent of the woods and campfires. I could have stayed a week! Easy to make friends with fellow-travelrs and share lively conversation over good local wine. I will remember Fontemaggio fondly!

The room was very clean, quiet, and small but with all the essentials which worked well for us. Dog friendly too! The village is stunning - highly recommend staying here.

The hostel is a short walk from the town's many monuments and attractions. Foligno Train Station is 800 metres away for trains around Umbria and further afield. The staff is caring, compassionate and humane. I arrived for check in after hospital discharge and double surgery with broken bones and cast on both arms and was immediately offered private room for the same price of dorm bed i originally booked. I can not explain enough how this helped my recovery and made my stay more pleasant and i am forever grateful and thankful from my heart. Also, the breakfast was satisfying with soya milk, fruit, vegan cake and cookies and more. Again, i was assisted with food by a very kind and pleasant lady Ilaria.
