The staff was incredibly friendly, and the charming bar doubles as a cozy, well-equipped workspace. I was traveling alone and felt completely safe throughout my stay :)

Situated in Cherbourg en Cotentin, 2.3 km from La Saline, Auberge de Jeunesse HI Cherbourg features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and a bar. The breakfast was superior to any I have seen of its kind. I would never have slept in when that petite dejeuner waited. The place was run like official youth hostels were once run when I was young, with a real mind to the needs of the guest, not the convenience or venal needs of staff. Staff here didn't take advantage of the disadvantaged. I'm already planning a return someday.
