I liked the fact it was not a hotel but a short-stay property. I liked its colonial layout and the fact that the host was helpful. Overall, I liked that it was clean, safe, secure, and affordable for my budget!

Island life hostel is at the end of Colonial zone and therefore perfectly located as you can walk safely through the city and reach everything in short time. It's close to china town for good food as well. Chris the owner and the people working here r really friendly and helpful to find busses or whatever you need.
Nice hostel in a safe and calm area, close to the National Palace and the Zona Colonial. Clean rooms with aircon and flat tv. Very good wifi. Friendly staff.

Great budget option in santo domingo - safe location in the heart of the action. lovely helpful staff really made my stay in the city much more comforatble.
Great location and the breakfast was wonderful. The price was right. It was very quiet, I couldn't hear any street noise from within the hotel and there were no noise disturbances at all while staying here unlike many other places we have stayed in the area. Building is secure you buzz to enter and there is a doorbell camera so we felt very safe. Staff were very attentive and friendly. They also keep the common areas very nice and clean.
Great location in a great neighborhood of Santo Domingo, it is safe to walk around even at the night. Very polite host and the communication was excellent. Amazing city view from the balcony, and the pool was also really nice.
We only stayed for one night to change the bus and we're glad we found this hostel! The Staff was so nice and helped us with everything, we felt really safe and stayed only a few feet away from the main shopping/food street.🌞 The room had big beautiful windows and the hostel is nicely designed. We totally recommend this place!!
