Situated in Fortuna and with La Fortuna Waterfall reachable within 5.6 km, Pura Vibra Hostel features concierge services, rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a shared lounge. The hostel is situated in a quiet area, but 2 minute walk from the 'center of town'. The vibe is very relaxed, with a garden and terraces where you can sit and meet other travelers. Dorms are relatively small, but all have their own bathroom and there is plenty of room for everyone because you are out and about during the day anyway. The kitchen is big and well-equiped. At 10:30 p.m., lights and music go out, so the peace and quiet is well guarded. Staff is very friendly. The hostel offers very good and very affordable tours through RedLava Tours, but you can also explore the area yourself with an Uber. La Fortuna is lively, with plenty of bars and soda's but still it has a relaxed vibe. La Fortuna is a great hub for exploring the Arenal volcano, rainforest and hotsprings, so I recommend spending at least 3 nights.

Featuring a garden, shared lounge and views of city, Alpha Arenal is located in Fortuna, 5.6 km from La Fortuna Waterfall. The owner was marvelous. He gave lots of great recommendations for several activities and does not want to sell tours like lots of others. Just perfect!!! This made our trip perfect and I highly recommend the hostel for everyone who goes to La Fortuna. The rooms were clean and we had a nice balkony to sit outside. It is a great hostel to get to know others.

Set within 5 km of La Fortuna Waterfall and 5.4 km of Kalambu Hot Springs, Arenal Sloth Hostel features rooms in Fortuna. Super comfortable beds in the dormitories, well stocked and regularly cleaned kitchen, lovely comfy place to hang out upstairs, and the staff are helpful and so friendly. The host Jimena is lovely! I stayed for a week and I had a wonderful time and the hostel played a big part of that.

Situated in Fortuna, 4.9 km from La Fortuna Waterfall, Argdivan Hostel features accommodation with a garden, private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. The vibe of the hostel is amazing! It’s this cute blue hostel that has a BEAUTIFUL terrace (with a bar) that lights up at night. I spent my mornings eating breakfast and doing yoga (with the mats they provide) on the terrace. There’s so much space, lot’s of chairs to hang around with other guests, AND an amazing view. They have curtains on the beds!! This is so rare to find in hostels ESPECIALLY at this price. They have lockers IN the room. I love how EACH bed has its own personal fan and outlet. The curtains go all around the bed so it provides a LOT of privacy which is SO nice when staying in a dorm. The bathrooms are really nice and were always clean! Each room has its own bathroom + shower AND they have an extra bathroom with a shower that anyone can use (this was really great when someone was using the shower in the dorm). The kitchen is great; they have everything you need- even a blender! They also provide you with oil, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper, which I found really convenient and a nice touch. The wifi is great- there’s lots of areas to sit and work. They also have a common area where you can watch Netflix on the tv! The owners and staff are amazing. There are tons of tours to do and they organize it for you. It was a great way to see La Fortuna and meet other travelers, so I highly recommend going on the tours- the hot springs, Rio Celeste, Chocolate Tour, and Night Walk were my favourites. I would HIGHLY recommend this hostel to anyone staying in La Fortuna! The price is incredible for the quality of the hostel. I will definitely visit again :)

Good location and very friendly host who provided great info and also tried to do self-organized trips to volcano if people at the hostel want to go together 👍 Simple but very nice pancake breakfast+fruit included. Comfortable bed with curtain and fan. Homy common area with kitchen.

Set in Ángeles, 18 km from La Fortuna Waterfall, Cabañas San Isidro offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and barbecue facilities. Great place for families with kids. We even got invited to the dinner with Juan - the owner of the property, and his wonderful wife and friends. Plus we also got a free excursion in the sorrounding garden where Juan grows mangos, avocados, blackberries and meny other fruits. Absolutely recommend.
