The stay was great, the rooms were comfortable and the staff very welcoming. The hostel is set in a beatiful lively town, it is part of a beautiful project to revitalize the town and it is doing so with great success. Next to it there is a super beautiful library which really stands out. What we loved the most was definitely the staff, they were super nice and patient explaining everything in English. They showed us a Diaolou they are taking care of, and explained us how people used to live there. It really helped us understand the history of Diaolous and allowed us to better understand the visit to Zili Village. They also showed us their farm and we picked some sweet potatoes which they cooked us for dinner. The next day they gave us some bikes and recommendations of things to check out which were great. Although we had little connection with the history of overseas Chinese, we really loved learning about the past and present of the region. I very strongly recommend anyone to go out of their way to spend a few days here.
