Conveniently located on Tunxi Old Street, Old Street Yun Zhu Hotel offers private and dormitory rooms with free Wi-Fi. There is a bar and karaoke facilities on the second floor for entertainment. It was wonderful to stay in an old house on Gulangyu. I especially enjoyed the breakfasts--simple, delicious, and served in a wonderfully cozy room full of plants and small animals. The small staff has a nice human touch. Great all around! I also liked that the windows were operable, and that there were several outdoor patios to enjoy the balmy weather.

Situated in Huangshan Scenic Area and with Bright Summit Peak reachable within 4.8 km, Huangshan Tangkou Haoshi International Youth Hostel features concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden,... The hosts were the kindest, most helpful hostel hosts I’ve ever had. They made us food when we came back late and made it vegetarian when my vegetarian friend could find no other. They even posted me my scarf I left there. I would definitely return.
